John Golden (@mathhombre) shares this fantastic video of his elementary pre-service teachers working through a fraction talk created by one of Simon Gregg’s (@Simon_Gregg) students.

This is exactly what beautiful collaboration looks like.

The students explain their dissection (splitting comes up a lot) and then challenges are fielded in such an honest and open way. We can’t see it in the video, but I’m assuming the students had time to work in groups because she uses the term “we” when detailing their work on the board.
